I got this and the 800ml version. I really like them. They have a clean look without the traditional bottle cage. The bottles themselves don't leak and the hinged cap keeps the nozzle clean. They don't fall off; while I ride mostly gravel and moderate MTB trails, I did hit a bump hard enough today to rattle my brain but the bottles stayed on. They are easy to remove. I'm experiencing a bit of a learning curve to reattach them while riding; some of which is old age related, so you young people should do just fine.
Once placed, I found it extremely difficult to push the securing tab into the 'lock' position, and once placed, extremely difficult to 'unlock'. Using almost brute strength to the point of it being borderline unusable and not something I wish to go through....not as effortless as I had thought.
Sprayed some silicone lube on it which made it a little easier, but still requires brute strength effort. My thumb hurts now.
Hey Cal,
We're are very dissapointedt to hear that this was your experience. Our Twist Froce Connector is designed to be very easy to lock and unlock so we would love to troubleshoot this issue with you.
Please reach out to support@fidlock.us and we will do our best to alleviate this issue.
I love this water bottle, it is so easy to grab and place back on my bike!
if the chest bag was designed to be clear on both sides it could turn this from just a phone protection case to an easy phone based action camera setup. without having to remove it from the case to do so... if this was made so that the top of the case could detach and tilt away from the body and then reattach securely it would become a 5 star product.. that way i can check messages and start a recording or otherwise access my phone without removing it from the protective case as the current design requires...
two features are on my wishlist for this item clear on both sides and top tilt away from body for screen access with better cameras facing out for capturing pov video I attached a pic illustrating this idea in that is available in a much bulkier version of a chest carry phone holder
Would love to see a smaller version to pair with universal mount on the seat post in lieu of a seat pack. I would look really great if it was small enough to be sized for tube, CO2, and tire lever only. Just an idea :)
I obviously didn't read the deal. It's bottle only. Probably a great bottle but I wanted to use it in conjunction with my larger bottle in a very tight location. May use it someday but with the cost of add the connector it'll probably be lost in the box of other bike junk over the last 31 years before I'll ever need it. My mistake.
Great idea to use Fidlock Bottle on a strap.
Unfortunately the attachement band broke after some uses. Where can I buy the replacement in Vienna/Austria or Amazon or ... ?
Do you have a better band not rubber something else? I want to use the adapter on my backpack shoulder strap. Thank you
The magnetic attachment is the best idea ever! They should make pedals with this same system.
Bottle is great but it's a bit hard to squize.
What’s the point in having secure magnets that hold the bottle in place when the hex bolts and square washers that hold the belt and magnetic connector in place work loose over time? 2 bottles and 3 bolts have gone. One bottle simply unattached whilst riding and I had to go back and collect all the parts. Unsurprisingly fidlock don’t offer the bolts as spare’s. Expensive bottles that are worthless now
Hey Scott,
We greatly appreciate your feedback. We always aim to provide high-quality products that will last for plenty of riding, so we are dissapointed to hear that this was your experience. We don't often hear of bottles dislodging so please see below for some technical assistance and tips!
Our washers are meant to provide support for bike configurations that require the use of shallow screws. For most bikes, the washers are optional and may cause your Bike Base to become loose if not needed. Unfortunately, we don't offer the washers for sale, but often offer them upon request for warranties.
Loose Bike Base screws or an upside down configuration are often the cause for dislodged bottles. Double check to make sure that your Bike Base is facing the correct direction (tail-down) and your screws are flush with Bike Base.
We apologize for the inconvenience that this experience has caused. Please feel free to reach out to support@fidlock.us to request a warranty shipment; we would be more than happy to help!
It's a little more expensive than a traditional bottle and cage but it'll last a lot longer and you won't lose your bottle! I've seen reviews that the bottle will leak and I've had some trouble with my old Fidlock bottles, but not until the thing has been used for years. Both the bottle and the lid appear more durable than the old ones too.
Love this water bottle holder! Easy to click in and out. Stays secure even on rough trail sections.
I have several fidlock mounts both for cars and mtb’s both secure well and hold the phone in very well
The bag is great, but it rattles the whole time you are riding, there’s no adjustment to make the bag lock in tighter!
Hey Jeremy,
Thanks so much for your feedback! We're dissapointed to hear that the the bag rattled during your rides. We always aim to produce high quality products that are equally functional.
If you would like, please feel free to reach out to support@fidlock.us and we would be more than happy to facilitate a refund, return or exchange.
Really, really expensive for what it is, but also really cool. Keep careful track of your bottles, though, as each bottle with one of these things on it now costs $50.
I use the top tube mount bottles on my e-bike and my wife's bike. We like the mounting position and find it much easier to drink from than down tube mounts. I gave one to my brother for his bike and he loves it!
Looked great on paper but the bulk of the device is disappointing. Going to keep it and use it but not 100% sure.
